Inn Keeper's Journal
It all started...While sitting at an HMO doctor's office with my 6-foot,
14-year old blue haired nephew, who has once again tripped over his own feet. Despite our appearance, I felt invisible to the staff and not sure if I minded
(due to the blue hair). I picked up the closest reading material to me without
having to get up, Modern Maturity Magazine. Now mind you at the time I was only

You'll love all the
outdoor activities nearby. In winter, there's downhill skiing at Gore Mountain, only 6 miles away, or cross country skiing at
Garnet Hill Ski Lodge, 2 miles away.
Both facilities offer food, rentals, ski shop, and lessons. Or better yet,
put on your skis or snowshoes and hop on a groomed trail right out our back door
(see specials for discounted ski passes).
For a really unforgettable experience
you can ski or snowshoe on thirteenth Lake surrounded by the majestic Adirondack
mountains.
In summer, the
mighty Hudson River is located 1 mile from the house. Great
for rafting, fly-fishing, hiking or picnicking. Bring your own
boat and put in at the canoe launch. Or hike some of the
many scenic Adirondack trails a short car ride away.
After an active
day spent exploring the area, put your feet
up
and relax with afternoon tea and freshly baked pastries or cozy up
around the fire and sip a glass of sherry. Don't want to spoil your
appetite for dinner? You will often find these goodies in Butler's Pantry for
a late night snack.
Breakfast is sure to be a
culinary experience with thoughtful attention given to taste, quality and
dietary concerns. Organic and local ingredients used when possible.
