Room #1-Peddlar's Room
This room is in memory of Jacob Davis, the original owner of the house who
used to peddle his wares throughout the area by horse & wagon. You'll
find original documents, books & trinkets pertaining to early peddler's of
New England. You just know that once upon a time, Jacob looked out
this window at his fields and mountains. One can only hope the moon is full.
Decorated in warm
shades of brown & beige hues, with wood floors.
Full
size bed Mountain views. Private bath with tub & shower. |

Room #2- Poet's Corner
Jeanne
Robert Foster, a famous Adirondack poet lived with Jacob and his wife Frances
in 1890. We dedicate this room to her, along with all writers and
poets. Curl up for the day with one of the many books calling out to you
from the antique hutch. But be ware, the view from this room has been
known to make ones time disappear.
-
Decorated in soft peach
and cream hues, with linens from the 1940's. Full
size bed. Mountain views. Private bath with double headed shower. Shared screened
porch

Room #3- The Farmer's Wife
While renovating the house, I found magazines entitled THE FARMER'S WIFE
from the 1930's. They were addressed to Frances' sister who inherited
the house after caring for Jacob & Frances until their death in 1918.
Go back in time and read what life was like for the farm family during the
depression from the old Farmers Almanacs, newspapers, & magazines throughout
the room. And yes, we do have an old Sears & Roebucks in the washroom.
Or how about turn on the radio and listen to the vintage taped radio
programs. The windows look out at the old stonewalls and tree lined dirt
road just as they looked 75 years ago
Decorated in blues, yellows and whites. Vintage linens including
a yo-yo quilt, starched hand towels and rag rugs.
-
Queen size bed.
Private bath with shower. Shared screened porch

Room #4-Artist's Retreat
What
can I say about this one. I was just in the mood
for something a little different. It has a small sitting area to
the right and a bath like no other.
The tub is a claw foot tub with a glass surround and rain shower head.
This room was made to
inspire the creative mind.
Queen size bed.
